Wiltshire College & University Centre’s popular student-run restaurants have completed successful re-openings following their first lunch services of the academic year.
The White Horse Restaurant at the Trowbridge campus and The Wessex Restaurant at the Salisbury campus were delighted to welcome members of the public back through their doors in early November.
Paying guests were treated to a superb three-course lunch at each site, with delicious dishes including chicken Caesar salad, wild mushroom risotto, pan-fried salmon, profiteroles and Bakewell tart all served up.
Student Ben helped to run the pass during the lunch in Trowbridge and was pleased to oversee a smooth service and receive some encouraging feedback from customers.
He said: “It was a really good experience and we all really enjoyed it. The service seemed to go very well, so we were all very pleased. It was a little bit stressful at times when you are managing different orders for different tables and have lots of dishes being brought up to you at one, but everyone did a great job.
“I have always liked food and its one of two careers I am looking at – the other would be joining the army. The thing I like about when it comes to working with food is all the different flavours, and how you can create something really amazing out of simple ingredients.”
A weekly lunch service runs from 11.45am to 1pm every week on a Tuesday at The White Horse Restaurant in Trowbridge and on a Wednesday at The Wessex Restaurant in Salisbury. Both offer a delicious freshly-prepared meal priced at £12 for two courses or £14 for three courses.
Strong bookings have been secured throughout November and both restaurants will also offer a special Christmas lunch menu in December.
