The Mander Duffill Accountancy Academy was announced at the firms Chippenham offices as part of an open day for anyone passionate about a career in accountancy.
Iain Hatt, Deputy Principal at the College, was delighted to be there to announce it saying: “The new Mander Duffill Accountancy Academy is a great example of how businesses and the College can work together to form strong partnerships.
“We pride ourselves on working with many local businesses and we tailor our curriculum accordingly to ensure our students are equipped with the skills necessary to go into industry.
“This new academy aims to develop the region’s next generation of accountancy technicians, and it represents a really exciting opportunity for students interested in a career in finance.”
Julian Duffill is Managing Partner at the firm of Chartered Accountants, tax and financial advisers.
He said: “We are delighted to have launched this academy with the College and it will build on the great relationship between us both in providing AAT and Accountancy training for a future generation of accountants.”
The Academy will combine professional accountancy qualifications with work placements and masterclasses to provide a unique programme to achieve both Level 2 and Level 3 AAT qualification.
When studying Level 2 AAT the learners will gain the skills about bookkeeping, costing, accountancy software and effective working in finance.
The Level 3 will then enable students to build on and develop their skills to an advanced level and learn more about indirect tax, ethics and spreadsheets. After the year, students would then be able to progress into Apprenticeships or employment with a variety of organisations and could also potentially progress onto the Level 4 AAT Professional Diploma in Accounting.
The Mander Duffill Academy course will be delivered at our Chippenham campus with Mander Duffill hosting exciting experiences such as masterclasses, visits and work placements to nurture passion and talent and develop additional understanding of the industry.
