A Wiltshire College & University Centre staff member has helped raise more than £4,000 in aid of a primary school near Salisbury.
Hattie Arnold works as a Careers Advisor at the College’s Salisbury campus and helped raise funds for a new minibus for Morgan's Vale and Woodfalls Primary School after their existing one was stolen and set on fire.
Hattie, who has a child at the school, set up a fundraiser to purchase a replacement and was delighted to see its target total achieved in just two days.
She told the Salisbury Journal: "All the parents felt so disappointed about what had happened and I wanted to try and do something to help. I spoke to the head and made the suggestion and he thought it was worth giving it a go, and I am blown away by the response.
"We were halfway there within 24 hours, which is brilliant. I just think the community has really pulled together.
"The minibus was wonderful for the school and other community groups - it gets the children out and about as much as possible and it is so beneficial to their learning.”
