On the 28th February former Student Matthew Dudman was nominated and subsequently won the RTS Student Award in the Comedy Drama Category.

On Tuesday 28th February former BA (Hons) Film Production and Cinematography student Matthew Dudman attended the West of England Royal Television Society Student Awards after his graduate film ‘Last Item’ on the Agenda in the Entertainment and Comedy Drama category was nominated for an award.

Matthew won the craft award for Best Director at the event, which was held at the Watershed Cinema in Bristol.

The thrilling evening brought together filmmakers from a variety of different educational establishments and backgrounds to celebrate achievements in the field. All nominated productions were shown throughout the evening with Matthew coming out on top in the comedy drama category.

Matthew who has since gone on to work in London for Eikon as a Quality Control operator working on mostly streaming TV, working through content and flagging potential issues was naturally also thrilled about the win, when asked Matthew responded:

"I'm incredibly grateful for the RTS recognizing the work that me and my crew put in throughout the shoot. It was a tough shoot at times and I'm incredibly grateful that I had a wonderful crew that I could rely on, without them and they're supportive feedback throughout the film simply wouldn't be what it is."

Congratulations on the win Matthew!
