Halloween came early at Wiltshire College & University Centre as students on the Level 1 Hair & Beauty course in Trowbridge took part in a Hocus Pocus competition in the final week before the October half-term.
Students had to devise and create a hair and make-up design on themselves based on the Disney Halloween-themed film. Students were rated on the creativity of their designs but also their planning, organisation and timekeeping.
Lilly Bloomfield was adjudged as the winner of the competition and received prizes kindly donated by Microblading Fillers and Lashes by Lyndsay and Love Hair & Nails Warminster.
Emma Dooley, Lecturer in Hairdressing at the College, said: “These Level 1 students all started their course with us in September and it’s amazing to see how much they have progressed already.
“They are all eager to learn and starting to show confidence in their work. They all produced some amazing creations that required various hair and make-up techniques. Well done to them all.”
Level 2 and Level 3 students will also be taking part in their own competitions this week, with gift vouchers having been kindly donated by Coiffure and All About Hair as prizes.
Hair & Beauty courses are run from the Aspire Academy of Hair and Beauty - a professional training salon at the College's Chippenham, Salisbury and Trowbridge campuses. To find out more about out courses in this sector click here.
