Staff at Wiltshire College & University Centre were honoured for their hard work and dedication throughout a challenging academic year at a series of Staff Awards ceremonies held this week.
Four separate socially distanced outdoor ceremonies were held at the College’s campuses at Chippenham, Lackham, Trowbridge and Salisbury, with another event taking place online for those unable to attend in person.
College Principal and CEO Amanda Burnside recognised the valuable contributions all staff members have made throughout the year before presenting awards to a select group of winners.
Prizes were handed out in four categories: Outstanding Contribution to the College Community, Outstanding Contribution to the Student Experience, Outstanding Teaching and Team of the Year.
In total, 27 awards were presented and the IT Team were the overwhelming winners of the Team of the Year award for enabling the College to continue operating successfully through yet more lockdowns as well as keeping all staff and students safe online.
College Principal and CEO Amanda Burnside said: “All of our staff are brilliant, every single one of them, but the winners of these Staff Awards have been recognised for going that little bit further.
“Congratulations to all of the winners. We had a lot of nominations and it was extremely difficult to whittle it down to decide winners, so these awards are very well deserved.
“I want to say thank-you to all staff for their contribution to the College over the past year. I am very proud of everyone – you are all stars.”
Staff were nominated for an award by one of their colleagues, with more than 140 names being put forward to claim a prize. A judging panel then presided over the list to determine winners in the four categories.
