Eight students from Wiltshire College & University Centre have been involved in a project to help renovate a courtyard garden at Melksham Hospital.
The students, who are all members of Access to Land-based course at the College’s Lackham campus, visited the hospital on Tuesday afternoons to improve the garden in order to restore it to a peaceful place to be enjoyed by staff and patients.
The project started in October and involved students pruning and cutting back existing shrubs, replanting flower beds, repairing the water feature and renovating planters and benches.
Angela Shearn, Lecturer in Access to Land-based at Lackham, said: “This was a lovely project to be involved in. The students all enjoyed the work, learned new skills and were pleased to be able to give something back to the local community.”
