Keah Donlon, a student at Wiltshire College & University Centre’s Trowbridge campus, had the honour of meeting HRH The Duke of Cambridge yesterday.
Keah visited Kensington Palace as part of BBC Radio 1’s Teen Heroes event. Keah, from Trowbridge, was named one of the winners last week for her incredible work as a young carer.
The 18-year-old studies Health & Social Care and has helped care for her mum at home since 2019 after she suffered a brainstem bleed.
While she was in the ICU, Keah’s father also sadly passed away after a long illness and Keah has since dedicated her life to helping others. She also works part-time in a local care home helping young people with brain injuries as well as supporting other young carers in the area.
Keah was surprised with the news she had been named a BBC Radio 1 Teen Hero live on the Breakfast Show with Greg James last week.
As part of her prizes, she presented Friday morning’s show with Greg and the four other Teen Heroes.
