If you are aged 16-19 (under 19), live in Wiltshire and Lackham is your nearest Land Based college, you may be eligible for a Wiltshire Council bus pass. If your household income is less than £20,819.00, the price for the 2024-25 bus pass is £315.00.

If you do not qualify for the lower rate bus pass, the full price of £950.00 is unlikely to be the most cost-effective option for your travel. Many of the bus companies offer discounted tickets for students or regular journeys. Please check prices with the transport provider.

Buses from Malmesbury and surrounding villages
Wiltshire Council are unable to provide buses direct to Lackham from the Malmesbury area. Coachstyle bus service 99 runs from Malmesbury to Chippenham where you can connect with the Faresaver X37.
Buses from Frome and Trowbridge
Bus service X34 is operated by Faresaver and runs from Frome and Trowbridge to Lackham campus. Students must depart the service on the A350 and walk down the drive to campus.
The X34 also connects with the X18 from Trowbridge which comes directly onto site for an 8.45am drop off. Only students with a Wiltshire Council bus pass will be able to use the service

Buses from Swindon and Royal Wootton Basset areas
Wiltshire Council are no longer able to provide buses direct to Lackham from Swindon, and Royal Wootton Basset areas.
Please use Stagecoach service 55 from these areas to Chippenham, where it will be possible to connect with the Faresaver X37 and X43 at Chippenham Bus Station.
GWR trains run direct from Swindon to Chippenham.
The nearest train station to the Lackham campus is in Chippenham (3 and a half miles). If you choose to travel by train, please check that your train will arrive in time for you to catch a bus to Lackham.
Students travelling on the train network aged 16 or 17 can purchase a 16 – 17 Saver card for a 50% reduction in their train fares here.
Students aged 18 and over can purchase a young person’s railcard which entitles them to a 30% reduction in ticket prices: click here.

Parking is free on all of our campuses, although spaces cannot be guaranteed.
The College has EV charging points available for use by staff and students, these spaces are for the charging of electric vehicles only and should not be used for parking.
If you live more than 3 miles (walking distance) from College, the College bursaries can offer financial support to help students who could face financial difficulties with the cost of travelling to college.
