You’ll learn the underpinning care values and understand how to support individuals and families across different stages of their lives.
Our lecturers are subject specialists with years of experience in the sector, able to give you a real insight into the challenges and rewards of a career in health and social care. Throughout the course you’ll build a clearer picture of the diverse career opportunities in health and social care. A mandatory work placement will give you real experience of a health and care setting, and you'll get an insight into health and social care in different settings on our annual overseas trip. The full diploma is an A-Level equivalent course, giving you the UCAS points necessary to progress into higher education or the experience and knowledge to start seeking employment.

Michelle has studied and taught numerous social science subjects and has a wide range of experience in the education sector in both academic and strategic roles. She is the Programme Lead on the College’s HNC / HND Social and Community Work (Integrated Health and Social Care) course.
Michelle has a Masters Degree in Psychology from Bath Spa University. She first got involved in education while her children were growing up. This included various voluntary roles, such as spending 14 years as a School Governor, three of which saw her occupy the position of Chair of Governors.
Initially joining the College as a Lecturer in Health and Social Care in 2018, Michelle took on the role of Programme Lead of the HNC / HND course in 2022. During her time at the College, she has worked in a number of different teams across various campuses. Read more...
