Course Overview
This one-day, Level 3 qualification is aimed at those intending to respond as an emergency first aider in the workplace, in accordance with the Health and Safety (First Aid) Regulations 1981. This course will enable you to apply best practice in the safe, prompt and effective treatment of those suffering from injuries and ill health in the workplace.
What will I learn?
Students will learn about understanding the roles and responsibilities of an emergency first aider, assessing an incident and managing an unresponsive casualty who may or may not be breathing normally. You will also learn about identifying and assisting a casualty who is choking and managing a casualty who is wounded and bleeding, in shock or has a minor injury.
Study, Assessment and Qualifications
Assessment is through practical observation and oral questioning carried out during the course where you will demonstrate the application of the correct first aid techniques.

There are no formal entry requirements for this course.
Additional Costs and Information
Please note that the awarding body’s’ minimum required contact hours for this qualification are six hours, therefore students should ensure that they are available to attend the full course as scheduled.
You are advised to wear comfortable clothing as the course involves a significant amount of practical and physical activities.
