Course Overview
It can be challenging to choose what to study at college – not everyone leaves school with a clear idea in mind. If this sounds like you, then our Level 1 Introductory Diploma in Vocational Studies may be your ideal pathway. This course will give you the opportunity to experience lots of the different subject areas that we offer before you choose one area of study. The course offers experience in all of the following areas: sport, public services, travel and tourism, health and social care, early years.
What will I learn?
You’ll be taught by specialists from each subject area, giving you a varied and interesting timetable with exciting insights into the range of subjects on offer at the College.
Alongside the subject-specific teaching, you’ll study core units that will help you build key skills in communication and working as a team, helping you to plan where you’d like to go next in your education and giving you all the information to help you make an informed decision when choosing your specialist Level 2 course.
Study, Assessment and Qualifications
This course is assessed through ongoing coursework.
Your final qualification is a BTEC Level 1 Introductory Diploma in Vocational Studies.
Entry Requirements
Usual entry requirements are 4 GCSEs at grade 1 or 2 or equivalent experience, but entry is determined on an individualised basis and subject to an interview.
Additional Costs and Information
Trips to other organisations and exhibitions are an important part of the course that you will be expected to join in with and may include a potential residential trip. This may involve costs for travel and entry fees.
