Course Overview
As an accounts or finance assistant you will provide valuable support to your accountancy team and carry out junior accountancy duties. Duties can vary depending on the team structure and size of the business. They may include basic bookkeeping activities, working with sales and purchase ledgers, running calculations to ensure that records and payments are correct, recording of cash and data entry
What will I learn?
This apprenticeship is split into three areas; knowledge, skills and behaviours.
The knowledge units include: Business awareness, IT systems and processes, ethical standards, accounting systems and processes and basic accounting.
The skills units include: attention to detail, communication, uses of systems and processes and personal effectiveness. The behaviour units include: team work, personal development, professionalism and customer focus.
Study, Assessment and Qualifications
This apprenticeship will take 12 to 14 months to complete and you will be required to attend college for 1 day per week during term time.
Entry Requirements
- Minimum Functional Skills Level 1 or GCSE grade D in Maths and English.
- All applicants will be required to pass initial assessments in Maths, English and ICT, where a Level 1 grade must be achieved for acceptance into the apprenticeship programme.
