Course Overview
Our BTEC Level 2 in Applied Science provides a route into continued education in science. This course combines the key areas of Biology, Physics and Chemistry to give you a well-rounded practical and theoretical understanding of the Applied Sciences.You will take part in a range of laboratory practicals, developing an understanding of common practices in laboratory settings. You will also have the opportunity to explore a wide range of career paths open to you and find out about how you can pursue various careers in the wide world of science.

- Biology, Physics and Chemistry
- Applications of life sciences
- Applications of chemical substances in range of situations
- Applications of physical sciences for a range of purposes
Study, Assessment and Qualifications
This course is a 1 year programme of study.
The course is delivered through a series of units composed of both practical and theoretical components. The delivery of the course will be through student centred lessons complimented by some interactive computer-based activities.
You will be in college for 3 days per week and be required to complete 30 hours of work experience as part of your study programme. You will also attend Maths and English if you do not have these at a Grade 4.
Entry Requirements
- 4 GCSEs at grade 3 (D) or above, including English, Maths and a Science
- You will be interviewed by a member of the lecturing team.
