Starting your own business can be exciting, but it’s important to be fully aware of the initial processes and requirements of a business start-up. If you’re looking to start your own business, the level 2 Certificate in Creating a Business Start-Up will help you to explore business ideas and select the most appropriate option to develop. You will learn how to develop and progress your business plan so you fully understand your target market. The course will also teach you about marketing your business and the important legal and financial requirements you have to follow.

What will I learn?

This course is designed to provide you with essential insights and knowledge for initiating a business venture. It encompasses various aspects, including selecting a business start-up concept, designing a logo, developing two promotional materials, understanding the process of generating invoices and payment receipt templates, as well as acquiring the skills to craft a comprehensive business plan.

The course is made up of four mandatory units as follows:
· Initial steps for a business start-up
· Marketing for a business start-up
· Legal and financial considerations when starting a business
· How to develop a business plan

Study, Assessment and Qualifications

This course is delivered purely online with digital content. Upon enrolment Learners are sent login details for our e-assessor system where they will access all course materials including workbooks and questions. Learners will also submit all work via this system which will then be marked by an Assessor and feedback provided.

Due to the nature of these Distance Learning courses, the emphasis is very much on self-directed study. Learners should be able to take all the information needed to complete the course from the Workbooks but will also receive high level support from their Assessor and the Distance Learning Team.

Each unit will have a set deadline so Learners can plan their study time to fit in with these dates.

Entry Requirements

Learners must be aged 19 years or over. Must have lived in the UK or EAA for the last three years. Must currently reside in England, in a post code outside of London, the Greater Manchester Combined Authority, the Liverpool City Region Combined Authority, the West Midlands Combined Authority, the Tees Valley Combined Authority, the Cambridgeshire and Peterborough Combined Authority, the Newcastle Upon Tyne, North Tyneside and Northumberland Combined Authority, the Barnsley, Doncaster, Rotherham and Sheffield Combined Authority and the West Yorkshire Combined Authority.

Additional Costs and Information

This course is free however, we do have a £130 withdrawal fee if learners do not commence/complete their course within the allotted time/request to withdraw.

Learners can only complete one Distance Learning course at a time and cannot be on another funded course such as an Apprenticeship.

The allotted time for completion of this course is four months.
