Course Overview
This qualification is designed for learners who are looking to enter, or progress within, employment in the hospitality sector. It will enable learners to develop knowledge and understanding of excellence in customer service for the hospitality sector.
What will I learn?
This qualification will enable learners to develop an understanding of:
- Communicating with customers in the hospitality sector
- Teamwork in the hospitality sector
- Professional standards and personal development
- Legislation and regulations relating to customer service delivery in the hospitality sector
It is made up of four mandatory units as follows:
- Principles of customer service in the hospitality sector
- Understand effective teamwork in the hospitality sector
- Understand legislation and guidance relevant to the hospitality sector
- Understand professional personal standards in the hospitality sector
Study, Assessment and Qualifications
This course is delivered purely online with digital content. Upon enrolment learners are sent login details for our e-assessor system where they will access all course materials including workbooks and questions. Learners will also submit all work via this system which will then be marked by an Assessor and feedback provided.
Due to the nature of these Distance Learning courses, the emphasis is very much on self-directed study.
Learners should be able to take all the information needed to complete the course from the Workbooks but will also receive high level support from their Assessor and the Distance Learning Team.
Each unit will have a set deadline so Learners can plan their study time to fit in with these dates.

Entry Requirements
Learners must be aged 19 years or over as at the start of the academic year (31st August).
Applicants who have not lived in the UK for at least 3 years or do not have British Citizenship will be required to provide evidence of their right to reside in the UK.
No qualifications are required.
Additional Costs and Information
This course is free, however we do have a £130 withdrawal fee if learners do not commence/complete their course within the allotted time/request to withdraw.
Learners can only complete one Distance Learning course at a time and cannot be on another funded course such as an Apprenticeship.
The allotted time for completion of this course is four months.
