Course Overview
It is surprising how much maths is used in everyday life. This course will address all of the practicalities you deal with in everyday life.
What will I learn?
The ingredients of a cake - quite often we must work out the volume and weight of ingredients to bake a cake, we will look at different types of kitchen measurements such as ounces and cups.
You have a savings account? You will gain an understanding of how APR works on savings accounts and how to recognise the best rates for you.
Have you ever been in the position of buying paint for a room but unsure of how many litres is needed? You will learn about areas and volumes to work out the right amount of paint needed without buying too much or too little.
Shop sales and discounts. We all love a bargain, but how do we know that we really are getting a bargain with discounts? You will learn about percentages and the quick way of understanding how to work out a percentage.
Study, Assessment and Qualifications
Assessment is informal, based on your personal targets and the learning outcomes will be undertaken regularly with you by the course tutor.

To be eligible for the free fundable programme, you must be aged 19+ who are in receipt of benefit or on a low wage income and must have lived in the UK for the last three years.
