Course Overview
Do you have a passion working with children? Have you thought about stepping into Early Years? The programme will run over 10 weeks for 3 days per week starting at 9:30am-14:30. The programme will be delivered online via Teams.
What will I learn?
The programme will give you the knowledge and understanding of:
Child Development
- Children’s social and emotional development
- The importance of play and early learning
- Parenting skills
- Supporting children with disabilities and special education needs
Safeguarding and Prevent
- Understanding the Prevent Duty
- Understanding Safeguarding
- Understanding Online Safety
Employability Skills
- Creating and updating your CV
- Applying for early years practitioner online
- Interview skills and techniques
- Planning and preparing an interview
- Understanding recruitment processes in education
Study, Assessment and Qualifications
Upon successful completion of the course you will receive a certificate for NCFE Level 1 Employability Skills along with a college certificate in respect of other units covered. You will also receive the AIM award for child development.
Entry Requirements
There are no entry requirements with this course however, you will be expected to pay for a DBS. The DBS check will cost £55.50 and there are no concessions on this fee.
It is advisable to have your English GSCE at Grade 4 or above, and GCSE Maths though the latter is not essential.
Additional Costs and Information
You will need to use either a computer or laptop for the course, as mobile devices such as tablets or phones tend not to work sufficiently well.
